Pizzeria L'Antica Jaurès

First time trying this pizzeria and it's clearly the best in Reims! I assume the tomato sauce is homemade because it's simply delicious. The prices are really reasonable for the quality of the pizza. We tried the Margherita and the Chorizo ​​to get an idea, and they were fabulous. I can't wait to try the other pizzas. I should have thought of ordering from you much sooner!

For me, it's about hygiene. I really wish that those who prepare the pizzas, since they answer the phone, wouldn't wash their hands afterward or even wear gloves. I would have liked them to wear gloves when preparing a pizza and handling the ingredients, even if it's cooked. Thankfully, considering all the bacteria we have on our hands. Thank you.

As a long-time customer of Antica's takeout service, I have a rather disappointing experience at the restaurant. It all started with my phone reservation for 1 p.m., when I was told, "It's going to be busy, we close at 2 p.m." Okay, if they don't want me there, they should have said so! Once there, we were served fairly quickly, although the service was far from friendly. The pizzas were good. In fact, we took them to go, and it was the first time I'd ever been handed boxes at the table to put our pizzas in ourselves. Okay... The pizza chef coughed very loudly in the kitchen without even covering her mouth. We exchanged glances, and then she started talking about her evening the night before... I had to raise my voice so my children wouldn't hear. Conclusion: we won't be going back! A real lack of professionalism.

We visited this pizzeria during the week because we wanted a change from pasta while still enjoying Italian food. Arriving early, we were the first customers. The waitress naturally took care of us quickly. She didn't offer us a menu, so we used the QR codes on the table. In this digital age, I completely understand this choice. Nevertheless, I think a physical menu is more accessible for people who aren't used to new technologies. Plus, I find it much more pleasant to read and browse. To compensate for this, we used the menu for takeout and delivery. As a result, this menu doesn't have the same selection, so we had to miss out on some desserts, in particular. And then, after a long wait, came the most important part: the pizzas. Pizzas that truly embody Italy, with a simply delicious crust. Thick and crispy on the edges while remaining soft and chewy inside. The pizzas were generously topped with good sauce, good meat, and fresh vegetables. Once we had finished our meal and drinks, we would have liked dessert. However, after the waitress glanced at our table, she didn't bother to clear it or even bring us a carafe of water. Perhaps she could have come to ask how we were doing or if we needed anything. So, unfortunately, we missed out on a dessert that would undoubtedly have been just as good as the rest of the meal. This is certainly one of the main areas for improvement. As for the atmosphere and decor, it's a pleasant, bright, and welcoming place. The table settings and wall decorations are minimalist, but they do the job perfectly. I must admit, though, that I'm a little envious of your plates. I do think the wall decorated with Roman ruins is a bit in poor taste. (And recycling tiramisu jars into glasses is a good idea, but not for a good restaurant like yours.) In conclusion, I would say that this pizzeria is ideal if you love really good pizzas and have a big appetite. You do need to have some time, though. My opinion doesn't reflect the delivery and takeout options since we haven't tried them yet, but after this great experience, we might. The best pizzas in Reims (not to mention "that I've ever eaten"). The dough alone is worth the trip. There's not much to complain about, as the restaurant is very clean and the welcome is warm. As a bonus, the background music is fantastic!
